Terms of Service

Last updated: August 30, 2026

CommanderBracket is run by Keith Coughlin. Using the site or the app means you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use it.

What the service is: Deck analysis tools for Magic: The Gathering, including bracket estimates, deck building, and Deck Chat. Everything we output is a signal, not a ruling. Bracket numbers are estimates, card suggestions are suggestions, and rules answers are our best reading of the Comprehensive Rules. For anything that decides a game, ask a judge. The website is ad-supported; ads are served by third parties and are not endorsements.

Accounts: You need an account to save decks and to use Deck Chat. Keep your sign-in secure. You're responsible for what happens under your account. We can suspend an account that breaks these terms.

Commander Bracket Pro: Pro is a subscription. $5.99 per month or $54.99 per year, both with a 7-day free trial for new subscribers. Pro removes ads on the website and includes Deck Chat with higher message limits than the free tier. Message limits are published in the app and can change with notice.

Billing and renewal: Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period at the then-current price, until you cancel. If you start with the free trial and don't cancel before it ends, the subscription starts and you're charged. Prices are in US dollars and exclude any tax we're required to collect. If we change the price, we'll tell you before it applies to your renewal.

Cancelling and refunds: Where you cancel depends on where you subscribed.

  • Bought on the web: cancel from your account settings. Cancelling stops the next renewal and you keep Pro until the period you already paid for ends. For a refund, email keith@commanderbracket.app. We handle these case by case and we're not unreasonable about it.
  • Bought through the App Store: Apple handles the billing, so cancel in your Apple subscription settings and request refunds through Apple. We can't issue a refund for a purchase we never processed.

Acceptable use: Don't attack the service, don't try to get around rate limits, quotas, or paywalls, and don't use it to break the law. Don't resell access or share one account across many people.

No extraction: This one matters, so it's explicit. You may use Deck Chat output for your own decks, including sharing individual answers. You may not systematically harvest output from Deck Chat or any other endpoint, whether by scripting, scraping, or bulk prompting, and you may not use our output to train a model or to build a competing product or dataset. Automated access to the API needs a partner key. If you want data or access, ask us; we've said yes before.

Deck Chat and AI output: Deck Chat is grounded in our own card and rules data and its claims are checked before they reach you, but it is still a language model and it can be wrong. Check anything that matters before you act on it. It is not legal, financial, or judging advice, and card prices it quotes are estimates that move.

Your content: Your decklists stay yours. You give us permission to store and process them to run the service, and to use anonymised deck data to improve accuracy. Anonymised means card names and results with no personal data attached, exactly as described in the Privacy Policy.

Our content and Wizards' content: The site, the engine, and the analysis are ours. Magic: The Gathering card names, card text, and images belong to Wizards of the Coast. CommanderBracket is unofficial Fan Content permitted under the Wizards of the Coast Fan Content Policy, and is not approved or endorsed by Wizards. Card data comes from Scryfall.

Availability: We aim to keep it up and we don't promise uptime. Features can change or be removed. If we retire something you paid for, you get a pro-rated refund for the unused part.

Liability: The service is provided as is, without warranties. To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you is capped at what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that can't legally be limited.

Ending it: You can stop using the service and delete your account at any time from Account settings. We can suspend or end access for a breach of these terms, and if we do that without cause, we refund the unused part of your subscription.

Changes: We may update these terms. If a change is material, we'll say so in the app or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new terms.

Governing law: These terms are governed by the laws of North Carolina, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
