Multiverse Reforged upgrade guide, the Reality Fracture Jace precon
Reality Fracture's big Commander precon is Multiverse Reforged. $49.99, out October 2. Jace, Multiverse Architect leads it in four colors, white, blue, black and red. The other five Reality Fracture decks are $29.99 mono-color Foundations Commander decks built for new players.
We ran the stock list through our bracket analyzer. Bracket 2, estimated win around turn 8.6. Zero Game Changers, zero tutors, one fast mana source (Sol Ring). A true precon.
People are already building it. EDHREC has 2,941 Jace decks. Every swap below comes from what those decks actually play and what they cut, and every tier was run through the same analyzer.
How the deck works
Make a pile of tokens. Turn the tokens into huge creatures.
Jace's -3 exiles a creature or planeswalker you control, then flips cards off your library until it hits a creature or planeswalker and puts it onto the battlefield. Exile a 1/1 Soldier, get Archon of Cruelty. Mass Polymorph and Synthetic Destiny do it to your whole board at once. Proteus Staff does it every turn.
The token side is Secure the Wastes, Martial Coup, Elspeth, Lingering Souls and friends. The hits are the seven- to nine-mana monsters you never have to cast. Archon of Cruelty, Avacyn, Angel of Horror, Darksteel Angel, Serra's Emissary.
Here is the part most first builds miss. Jace hits planeswalkers too. Every good planeswalker you add is another thing the polymorph can land on. That drives most of the upgrades below.

What to cut first
EDHREC shows which stock cards Jace players are already taking out. These are the lowest inclusion rates in the deck.

Dack is the easy one. He puts creatures from your library onto the battlefield and then hands them to your opponents. The Ur-Sphinx wants other Sphinxes, and the deck has none. Niv-Mizzet is a lifegain engine in a deck that isn't about lifegain. Most of the rest are fine cards pulling in a different direction from Jace.
Tier 1. Under $15, still Bracket 2
Seven swaps for about $12.52. This is the tier we would do on day one.

The analyzer still says Bracket 2, around turn 8.6. That is the point. Speed stays put and the deck runs its plan more often. Our analyzer files the stock list under a plain tokens deck. After tier 1 it reads the plan as Tokens - Polymorph.

A combo warning
Aminatou, the Fateshifter is in 31% of Jace decks, and she looks like a perfect fit. We left her out on purpose. Aminatou plus Oath of Teferi plus Nicol Bolas, Dragon-God is an infinite combo on Commander Spellbook. It exiles every permanent and every hand your opponents have. Aminatou, Oath and Spark Double from tier 2 go infinite too.
If your table is fine with combos, she is the first card to add back. If you're playing Bracket 2 with friends, tell them first or skip her.
Tier 2. About $78 more, the Jace package
Six more swaps. Four of them are new Reality Fracture cards built for this commander.

The Theorist is $49.95 of that $78. Reality Fracture singles are preorder prices right now and they will move after release. If you want to wait on one card, wait on that one.
The analyzer still says Bracket 2, around turn 8.8. A touch slower on paper. What you get back is card flow and a Jace that sticks around.

Tier 3. About $149 more, Bracket 3
Want Bracket 3? That means Game Changers. Smothering Tithe and Rhystic Study are the two Jace players run most, 15.0% and 13.9% of decks. Teferi's Protection is further down at 10.3%, but it's the one that protects your walkers.
